Pet Columbarium

The loss of a pet is the loss of a dear friend. It is truly never easy to say goodbye. After a dignified farewell at a crematorium, you may wish to consider a final resting place for your faithful pet.

A pet columbarium is a beautiful and peaceful final resting place for pets who have crossed the rainbow bridge. Similar to human columbaria, urns containing pet cremains are placed in vertically stacked niches. Owners can decorate the niches with pictures and all their companion’s favourite things and accessories.

Why Opt For a Pet Columbarium?

Under the Environmental Public Health (Public Cleansing) Regulations, the National Environment Agency (NEA) prohibits the burial of deceased animals in public places in Singapore.

A pet columbarium is thus a good alternative to burial sites as it provides a physical space for you to pay your respects to your faithful pet.

Honour Your Pet With a Final Resting Place

Pet columbariums offer your beloved pet a dignified final resting place, fitting for a family member. They offer a space for honouring the joys and beauty of a pet’s life after they have left us.

A Place to Memorialise Your Beloved Pet

Pet columbariums allow you to memorialise all the good memories you have had with your beloved pet. Celebrate their lives by decorating niches with framed photographs, heartfelt notes and all their favourite toys, food and accessories.

A Tranquil and Peaceful Environment

Having a quiet space to pay your respects is important to many owners of pets who have crossed over. Columbariums offer a tranquil environment for visitors to pay tribute to the good times and say a small prayer for their pets.

Alternative Options For Pet Ashes After Cremation

Other than commemorating your pet at a columbarium, you may also choose to scatter their ashes somewhere meaningful, bring them home in an urn or turn them into jewellery.

Scatter the Ashes

A common option after cremation, scattering your pet’s ashes can be a meaningful way to lay your friend to rest. It also allows your pet to be part of the natural world once again. Common places to scatter ashes include:

Sea:
Sea burial is a common practice symbolic of freedom and peace. It can be a beautiful and cathartic memorial, especially if your pet enjoyed playing by the beach during their life.

It is important to note that the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore only authorises sea burials 2.8km south of Pulau Semakau.

Burial ground:
Ashes may be scattered on designated burial grounds such as the ones at Mandai Pets Sanctuary or the Garden of Peace at the Choa Chu Kang Cemetery. These sites offer a respectful and serene environment to lay your pet to rest and for future visitations.

Private property:
In Singapore, pet ashes may be scattered on private property as long as they do not cause any biological harm to the people, flora and fauna around it. This is a viable option for those who want to keep their pets close, within the grounds of their private estate.

Have the Ashes Placed in an Urn

After cremation, you may bring your pet’s ashes home in a beautiful urn and display them somewhere special. This works best for those who have a safe and respectful part of the home to display the urn.

Convert the Ashes into Jewellery

Converting the ashes into jewellery is a more modern albeit pricey option, allowing you to forever have a piece of your beloved pet with you. Ashes may be converted into gemstones at the Singapore Casket.
